A couple weeks ago, I went on my first WoCavé mission, and I’ve been dying to tell you guys about it. This mission was a dessert cooking class in a cute kitchen remodeling store in downtown Northville. Mom and I met up with fellow blogger Lori from Foxes Love Lemons. I had never met another blogger before, so I was doubly excited.
The class was led by Mary Spencer whose daughter Sammy assisted her. The two of them worked seamlessly together and reminded me a lot of how well Mom and I work together. Mary has a lively personality and kept the class very interesting. She is also super knowledgeable and very prepared. Everything was set up and premeasured, ready for us to get started. The amount of work Mary and Sammy put into their classes is clearly evident.
On the menu were Key Lime Whoopie Pies, Pecan Sticky Buns, and Candied Citrus Peels. Is your mouth watering yet? Mine was the whole class. It was so fun to talk to Lori and get to know her, while making tons of yummy food and learning a lot. One of my favorite takeaways from the class was how to separate eggs using a water bottle. I am so using that the next time eggs need to be separated.
I had never taken a cooking class before, but now I’m definitely ready for more. I had such a great time. We got to take home lots of yummy food, more than enough to share with all of Dad’s guys at work, as well as the recipes, so you never know when one of those yummy recipes, or one inspired by them, will show up here. If you live in Southeastern Michigan, I highly recommend checking out one of Mary’s many classes. She is sure to teach one that interests you. You will learn a lot and have a great time – there’s no better way to spend a day!
This experience was exactly what I hoped my WoCavé would be. Great friends, good food, relaxing atmosphere. Seriously, where has the WoCavé been all my life? The only thing that was missing was some Skinny Cow treats, but you’ll have to make sure to pick some up for your WoCavé. I can’t wait to try the Strawberry Shortcake ice cream sandwiches I just bought.
I also can’t wait to start the next WoCavé mission. It’s all about fitness and staying healthy, but you know I can’t workout without some sort of sweet treat, so you’ll have to stay tuned for how I combine the two in my WoCavé!
If you have a minute, check out the Twitter chat today, Tuesday, July 30, at 3 pm EST with interior decorator Melissa Michaels. She will have lots of advice on how to create your very own WoCavé. Follow along with @theinspiredroom, @TheSkinnyCow, #WoCave, #SkinnyCow, and #askMM. Oh, and the first twenty five people to ask a question will win a coupon for a free Skinny Cow product! Plus, August 1 is National Girlfriend Day, so get your WoCavé ready for some time with your best friends. I know Mom and I will spend it together, probably baking up some sweet treat!
I hope you’re as excited to hear about my second mission as I am to complete it!
Disclaimer: I have been compensated by Nestle/Skinny Cow for my participation in this program, however, all opinions, as always, are mine.

Sounds like so much fun and I totally want to make some Key Lime Whoopie Pies!
That sounds like so much fun! I cannot even begin to imagine how you would use a water bottle to separate eggs. You will have to clue me in 🙂
I think you can watch a video on YouTube about it.
